You’ll get information about the recommended kite size. The calculator works with inflatable kites (LEI) of bow, delta, and hybrid type. The calculator covers wind from 8 to 30 knots.
Board size:
The calculator assumes you’re using a bigger twintip board with straps, which is great for learning and relaxed riding.
These are the recommended board dimensions:
- for weight from 50 to 80 kg → from 140 x 42 cm to 150 x 45 cm,
- for weight over 80 kg → from 151 x 43 cm to 160 x 50 cm.
Board size adjustment:
- If you’re using a bigger board than recommended for your weight → decrease the kite size by 1 m².
- If you’re using a smaller board → increase the kite size by 1 m².
If you select "experienced rider" in the settings:
Select this setting only if you already handle kitesurfing independently.

The calculator assumes you’re using a medium-sized twintip board with a medium rocker and straps – ideal for freeride.
These are the recommended board dimensions:
- for weight from 50 to 70 kg → 133 x 40 cm,
- for weight from 60 to 80 kg → 136 x 41 cm,
- for weight from 80 to 90 kg → 139 x 42 cm,
- for weight over 90 kg → 142 x 43 cm.
Beginner riders often use bigger “light wind” boards, as they offer more stability underfoot. If you’re between them, select the “beginner rider” setting when using the calculator – there you’ll get a more accurate estimate of which kite best suits you.
Board size adjustment:
- If you’re using a bigger board than recommended for your weight → decrease the kite size by 1 m².
- If you’re using a smaller board → increase the kite size by 1 m².
